Membership starts at $99/year and gives you voting power, through a series of business plan competitions, in deciding whom our resources support. Membership dues, along with matching funds and donations, will be granted to recipient organizations as decided by our membership base. All Detroit Foundation members have a say in how our resources are used, giving you a voice in the future of Detroit regardless of where you may live now. Of course, we greatly appreciate and encourage support at all levels, but this nominal annual gift allows current and ex-Michiganders to get involved in a sustainable resurgence of Detroit and genuine participation in our projects. We hope your membership dues will be just the start of your participation with the Foundation.
We believe The Detroit Foundation is a critical addition to the philanthropic landscape in Michigan, especially in an era in which many local institutions are struggling. We seek to discover and back a new generation of social entrepreneurs with the energy to seed Metro Detroit’s prosperous future.
